Other Favourite - Camilia Teething Relief

Jaana shares:

"My favourite medicine for teething pain is Camilia. It is homeopathic and it comes as a box of 30 drinkable 1 ml unit-doses. I love, love, love this stuff as it has really worked for J and it is so handy and easy to use. he willingly opens his mouth to drink it. You can find it at Wal-Mart, Zehr's, Superstore, Amazon, etc."

Camilia is made by a company by Boiron and after some web searching all say that it is perfectly safe and recommended by many doctors.

Thanks Jaana, I have never heard of the stuff, but have been going through some awful teething with H so I will definitely give it a try.

Other Favourites - Handmade Bows, Clips and Hats

Over the past little bit, two small businesses have been sent to me with handmade accessories. Now, I know little about this stuff with having a boy at home, but I have spent some time perusing both pages and their stuff is sooo cute.

1. Charlotte Monkey Creations - is a local company nearby in Tottenham. They sell items like custom T-shirts, bows, clips, headbands, beanies, tutus etc. On their page you can view numerous photos of available items or they also custom tailor to your needs. Shipping is free in North America and the pricing seems pretty reasonable. Their pricing can be found under the Discussions tab. I even found a cute tractor applique that I would love for H!

2. Melissa's Ribbon Bowtique - I think this is an American business and they specialize in bows and crochet hats. This company does a lot of seasonal items and right now they have a bunch of Halloween themed clips advertised. They also offer a few boy items and I have my eye on a cute blue and brown crochet hat for H. Their prices are usually added as a caption on their photos. As for shipping, you would have to contact the person on your own to establish what their policies are.

Just For Moms - La Senza Ultra Soft

Today I decided it was finally time to ditch the larger underwear that I had been wearing since I was pregnant. They were not maternity underwear, but a larger size and I had started to become accustomed to the loose fit but the look - not so much! So, I headed over to the mall to check out La Senza.

I found the most comfortable bras and underwear EVER! They are called the Ultra Soft line and right now the bras as selling for 2 for $36 and the underwear 5 for $25. They are the most comfortable things in the world and come in a variety of colours and styles. I was a bit nervous to go back to my regular size, but these underwear feel AMAZING!

If you are in the market for some new undies, I definitely recommend trying out La Senza's Ultra Soft line!

Other Favourites - Picky Sticky

I just saw the neatest thing on one of my baby discount websites and I wish I would have known about it earlier - Monthly Stickers by Picky Sticky.

These are large stickers that you can stick to a onesie or T-Shirt and then take a picture of your child to document their age. They come in a variety of boy or girl colours and designs and after you have taken your picture they say that there is still enough stick left to them that you can use the stickers in your scrapbook. What a unique way to document your child's growth!

They also have a Pregnancy line of stickers for the mom-to-be to capture her growing belly and a Milestones line to remember your baby's firsts. The stickers are not washable, so you need to take them off of your clothing once you are finished taking your picture.

Today they are on discount for $8.98 on www.babysteals.com and are also on sale on their website for $14.99 (regularly $17.95).

You can check out their product at http://www.pickysticky.com/index.php

Two Product Updates

So, my BuckleyBoo teddy arrived yesterday and H seems pretty interested in it. He gets a bit frustrated as he is having a bit of a hard time getting the buckles done up. But he likes to hug and kiss it and call it his teddy - I guess the buckling will come.

My sleep trainer and night light from MyBabyZoo also came yesterday and H loves the turtle night light. He walks around with it and says, "Turtle, turtle." It is a bit harder than I expected, but he likes to push on the shell and turn it on. It has two brightnesses and 4 timer lengths, so I like that.

All in all I am happy with the purchases.... the sleeptrainer clock is for Christmas, so I will let you know about that then!

Back to School Favourites - Litterless Lunch Boxes

Yeah! My first back to school favourite.

Maureen shares:

"I have a back to school favourite for you... Litterless lunch boxes by Goodbyn.
I bought one for each of the kids, they loved decorating them, and say their friends think they are really cool!"

I went to their site, http://www.mylitterlesslunches.ca/kits.shtml, and these lunch kits are really cool! They are BPA free, dishwasher safe and come with a water bottle and stickers to personalize them. They are available in four colours: red, green, blue and pink and they sell online for $28.50.

Thanks Maureen for sharing these cool lunch kits - I am sure that a lot of moms will be going online to get one for their little one!

Summer Favourite - Puddle Jumpers

As we were talking about closing the pool for the year today, I came across my friend's Puddle Jumpers for her kids and it made me think that these should be a summer favourite. I know that summer is almost over, but perhaps they will go on sale for the end of the season so I thought you might want to hear about them now.

A Puddle Jumper is a floatation device that goes in front of the child and over their arms like water wings. The idea is that the front part will help keep your child's head out of the water. They are for a child within 30-50 lbs and come in a variety of cool colours and prints.

Our friends just love theirs and it gives their children a lot of confidence in the water. I have not picked one up for H yet as he was not ready this year to swim on his own, but I will be watching the flyers the next few weeks to see if they are on sale. They can be purchased from Canadian Tire for $29.99.

Why not stock up early for next summer? Wishful thinking!

Favourite Books - Ten in the Meadow and Bathellow's Wing

Allyson shares some of her favourite books:

"Ten in the Meadow (John Butler, Scholastic) This is an adorable story with even cuter pictures. Both my kids love looking for the mouse on each page who goes 'missing' at the end. Love love love this one!

Barthello's Wing - A Tale of a Very Brave Bug (Janie DeVos, Scholastic) - can you tell I'm a scholastic junkie?? This is a great story as well and was actually a nice segway into a simple discussion about differences with P. We have a friend with a daughter who has special needs and this helped him understand difference. P actually cried one of the first times we read it, but it is a happy ending. Also a good tool to show that everything isn't always happy and perfect like many books portray."

Those sound like great books, Al, I will have to look for them the next time I am at the bookstore. Thanks again for sharing more of your faves!

Toddler Favourite - Dry Erase Crayons by Crayola

Steph shared a new product with me that she had also just heard about, Dry Erase Crayons by Crayola. They come in a pack of 8 and work with a white board. The perks of these new crayons is that they don't dry out, they don't smell like your regular dry erase markers do and they don't have caps that can easily be lost. The pack of 8 also comes with a dry erase mitt for easy cleanup and a sharpener built into the package.

Sounds pretty good to me! Will have to pick a pack of these up and give them a go! Will let you know what H and I think once we try them out!

Thanks for sharing Steph!
